After the devastating Chicago Fire of 1871, new fortunes were made rebuilding the city and many of the new millionaires built their summer retreats in Lake Geneva. Black Point, built in 1888, a grand old Queen Anne Victorian, has been enjoyed continuously every since by descendants of the original family. And now as the only original estate open to the public, you can enjoy Black Point too.

Conrad Seipp lived the American dream. Starting as an immigrant carpenter, he ultimately became the largest and most innovative brewer in Chicago. After building his dream retreat on the lake he only enjoyed it two seasons before his death.
